Since I've born here and, although I've lived in other cities, this is the one I choose to stay: I know all the historical and touristic places, and off course, hidden spots that only locals know. I'm also a good eater: so I can show you the best spots to have a good meal (even if you're not a meat eater like me!) and drink a great beer or a perfect glass of portuguese wine. I think you're in perfectly in good hands, don't you?
Leiria may not be the most known portuguese city. Located between Lisbon and Oporto, sometimes it's just left behind. Leiria is a place chosen by writers like Eça de Queirós, D. Dinis (the King), Afonso Lopes Vieira or Francisco Rodrigues Lobo to be inspired. And maybe the reason is that, from here, you can go anywhere: to the beach, mountains, forest, you name it. In the city you can find the castle and some of the most beautifull historical streets and buildings from the center of Portugal. Not far, in our way to some fantastic beaches, there's a pine forest planted by the king D. DInis - that is still up with centenary trees. If you're a sports lover, there's so much you can do: like riding a bike or maybe trecking in the mountain range that encircles this region. And may I talk about the food and wine? Yammm. Maybe I can show all this beauty to you, and then you can answer yourself.
